Hello! This is just a quick (and very boring) post. I just wanted to apologize for not updating sooner, and I wanted to let everyone in Computer-Land know that I will most likely not be posting for a week or two. My school ends in 2 weeks, and until then, I'll be swamped with assignments, exams, and tests. Not to mention I'll be busy with my social life (or lack there-of). If I do find time, I'll be posting sooner, so please keep checking back. Thanks!

Hi Everyone! I've been busy doing school (same as all teens). Thankfully, I finished Science, so I have Math, Bible, and my Internet classes. I've been planning to play tennis again this summer. I really like it, and my mom is teaching me (I'm pretty sure she did tennis in college). I've also learned that I have mastered one skill in my time as "Number 1 Lawn Mower from my Family": I can start it! My mom has taken over the annoying job of mowing, but I'll need to learn how to weed-wack. She has trouble starting the mower, so I feel so cool going out there and starting it by myself!
My friend in the hospital is able to squeeze people's hands, and she follows people with her eye. They have her standing in a contraption that holds her up, but she is still considered to be in a coma. Please keep praying! Thanks so much for your prayers and encouragement. I received a book called, "The Clearing" by Heather Davis that I had won. Hopefully, it will be good. If it's weird, the cover is pretty, so I can always just keep it because of that! :D I have a question for all of you (maybe I'll write about it in the next blog post). Do you believe that women are lower than men? (Not to open a can of worms or anything). :D I'll try to add some more quotes soon, so if you have a favorite, please let me know. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! I'm going to a book convention (YAY!!!!) where there are thousands or books and thousands of people. I have a list of books on Barnes and Noble, but I don't know if I'll see all of them at the convention. Here is my list of books and their description from Amazon (because they are sooo good!) I probably mentioned them before:  This is the prequel to "Crown Duel". I haven't read it yet, but "Crown Duel" was really amazing. Actually, you might want to read "Crown Duel" first so that you understand the characters. (This main character is one of the main characters in "Crown Duel") The author, Sherwood Smith, has a nice website, so here's the link if you want to check it out and read about her books. http://www.sherwoodsmith.net/ Ok, without further ado, here's the official description from Amazon: In this much-anticipated prequel to CROWN DUEL, Vidanric Renselaeus, fifteen-year-old Marquis of Shevraeth, finds himself sent across the continent to a military academy in Marloven Hess, a kingdom known for its violent history. This book was originally two books (Crown Duel and Court Duel), but the author combined them and added some scenes, so if you ARE interested in this book, you might want to find the combined edition. This book is by Megan Whaler Turner, and now one of my favorites. It is a fantasy book that is not set in Greece, but has a Greek influence. (They have some Greek-flavored mythology) This has the best surprise ending that I've ever read, and it's amazing! Gen, an accomplished thief incarcerated for stealing the king's seal, is dragged from his cell by the king's magus, who is on a quest. During the quest, the magus and Gen take turns telling the youngest member of their party myths about the Eddisian god of thieves. Turner does a phenomenal job of creating real people to range through her well-plotted, evenly paced story. No one is entirely evil or completely perfect. Gen is totally human in his lack of discipline, seeming lack of heroism, and need for sleep and food. The magus makes the transition from smug, superior scholar to decent guy in a believable fashion. Turner also does a neat job of puncturing lots of little prejudices. There are many deft lessons in this story. As absorbing as it is, the best part lies in the surprise ending. Though it is foreshadowed throughout, it is not obvious. Its impact is more like morning sunlight than a lightning bolt. This book is sure to be a hot item with adventure and fantasy lovers, and YAs who like snide, quick-tempered, softhearted heroes will love Gen.  This book is the sequel to "The Thief. I won't put the review up, in case it will spoil the first book.  This is the third book in "The Thief" series. This is also a great book. There is a 4th book in the series. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOO sorry for not updating sooner! I have exams, papers, quizzes, assignments, etc. due soon. ICK! On the bright side, though, is that summer/freedom is coming soon! The time where I play tennis again, read forever, sleep in, go swimming....
My mom has already been talking to me about college (Shriek of horror), and I'm only in 9th grade now. But technically, I guess I do have to be thinking about college now, because there are certain required subjects I need to take in highschool, to be accepted in some colleges. It's really weird, though, when friends of the family will ask me: Where I plan to go to college, what will be my major, and what I will do after college. I've figured out that people don't like when my answer consists of: "Ummm... is college really necessary? I mean, Jesus didn't go to college!" Wrong answer This is the answer they want: "Well, I'll be going to _______(insert college name here), for 4 years, and my major will be in _____ (insert major here), and then, after college, I'll be getting a great job to pay off my college loans, buying a nicer car, getting married to a guy I met in college, and buying a 2 story, 4 bedroom house in the suburbs!" Correct Answer Ok, so maybe I was exaggerating a LITTLE bit, but it seems like that to me! :) A Couple of Updates: 1. I might have an author interview soon. 2. I'll be posting a book review of "The Thief" by Megan Whaler Turner soon. Or, well, as soon as I can write it. (nervous giggle) 3. My friend who was in the car accident is doing better. Her eye that is open is moving around, watching people, and she even is able to move her neck a little bit and clench her hand. Please keep praying! Apparently, she's still in a semi-coma, because she isn't able to talk and fully react to her surroundings. Does that sound about right? Because I'm not good with medical terms and all. 4. How did you like the color change? Speaking of color, I discovered, that I only own one yellow clothing item. And I'm a girl! (Which means, I OWN MANY CLOTHING ITEMS!!!) This was a major shock to me. Let's just call it an epiphany. Have you ever experienced finding out that you are missing a color from the rainbow in your shirt drawer? (This is probably a question for girls. My friend is now moving to rehab, but she is still unconscious. I'm not really good at doctor stuff, so does anyone know what that means? I guess today is my "Not-Understanding-Anything-Day" because I also have another quest for you all! This Bible verse was emailed to me, and I'm not quite sure what it means. To use a fancy word, it INTRIGUES me. Could you help me figure it out? "God is Spirit, and His worshipers must worship in spirit and truth." ~ John 4:24 Yesterday I helped my friend pick out a Bible that she is buying for a new guy in Sunday School. I hope he likes it! It's NIV and for teens. We went shopping at Ollie's, a good discount store that has an amazing selection of Bible. Do you have one near you? Has anyone ever read the Canterbury Tales? I'm reading it for my class, and so far I like it. We had to try to read it in Middle English in front of the whole class, and it was soooo funny! I suggest you research Middle English and find out what it sounds like! It seems sorta like our English, except they throw in odd sounding words. Bye for now! ~Katie Hi! My friend in the hospital is still unconscious, but the doctors took out the breathing tube, the drain in the brain, and they took off the neck brace. Thanks so much for your prayers! 3. How do you like the new blog design? I'll post more when I receive the interview answers! Thanks! First, I'd like to say that I am sooooo sorry that I haven't been posting regularly! Last week, my three best friends were in a car accident. The oldest (17) was driving, and they hit a tractor trailer. The car was ruined. The oldest and middle (15), were not injured, but the youngest (13), hit her head, was bleeding, and is still unconscious. Again, this accident happened about a week ago. She was life-flighted to a great hospital a couple of hours away. She is in the PICU, and is hooked up to many things. Please, please pray! We've been visiting her a couple of times. The doctors said that she has brain damage, and may not be able to walk or talk again. But she is moving around when pinched, and she has twitched her hand a bit. Her eyes are open a little bit, but she is still not responding. I started a group on Facebook for her. She turned 14 a couple of days after the accident, so many people sent her birthday cards. Yesterday, when I was visiting, I spent a couple of hours reading the cards to her, and I started and finished the book of Esther, from the Bible. I know that she heard me, but she probably won't be able to remember what I said when she wakes up. I feel so depressed over this, but I can't mourn as if she's dead, because I fully believe God will heal her completely! Please pray for a miracle. It might be a few days until I'll be posting again. Spring Break is over, and, while my mom didn't let me take off my regular school subjects that she teaches, I did get to take off my two Internet classes. I'll be posting a story I wrote for my Comp. class. It's called a Fractured Fairy-Tale, and I wrote it about Sleeping Beauty (one of my favorite princesses). So that will be uploaded to 'My Work'.
If there are any problems or errors in it, please feel free to critique it, because I haven't gotten my grade back from my teacher, and I don't know what's wrong with it! Sorry about the lack of author interviews; I had asked a couple of authors, but they either didn't respond, or are not allowed. But as of now, there might be one soon. So keep checking back! ~Katie P. Wow! It's been a long time since I updated! Hmmm..... Let's see. The news here is: I'm hopefully getting a blue streak in my hair! :D I want one up kinda near the front, but the nice thing is that it'll wash away in about a month. So right now I'm trying to convince my mom to let me get one. My goal is to get it by the time I lose ten pounds. I've been doing a 10 grams or less sugar diet (only ten grams of sugar for each meal), and so far I've lost 3 pounds! I'm so excited! I wanted to get in shape for the summer. Right now in science I'm studying about veins and arteries, which makes my body go numb. I think it's all in my head. : ) I've been waiting for some books to come out, and hoping the library will buy them, but we're going through a money decrease. The government isn't giving the libraries around here much money. So, at the risk of starting a political debate, what do you think of the new Healthcare Law?
Hi everyone! I wanted to post a couple of things. This Powerpoint link was sent to me by one of my friends. It is soooo funny and amazing! Also, I found out I won't be ably to interview Cornelia Funke, because she doesn't give interviews for schools or websites. :( Any other suggestions? Well, I spoke in church about Impact, and I did OK! (I had been soooo scared! As I said before, stages don't like me!) I've been cooking for my grandma, and taking care of the house, etc. I was amazed that the food I made wasn't poisonous! : ) Have you ever watched McLintock? It's a funny movie with John Wayne in it. It's a Western. The snow here is gone! YAY! Finally! My ramblings aren't really that important, but nothing much is happening where I live! Other than the slightly interesting fact where I had in injury when I was cooking. I felt so stupid walking to the kitchen with a box of Band-Aids! Have you had any injuries in the kitchen, or am I just clumsy? 
I went to a big seminar called Impact over the weekend! It was amazing! There were over 1000 teenagers there! We stayed at the Hilton, and it lasted three days. The speaker was Bob Lenz, who was really funny and did a good job at speaking about life issues today, in a different way. He wrote a great book, called Grace, which I own. Here's part of his bio:
