This is my paint color, 'Calypso'!

My friend Karlene is here from Philly! All of a sudden, she mentioned painting my room. Before, it was white with horse posters. But the paint was just drywall, so it had marks in it. So I went to:
which was a cool paint visualizer! It was fun to do. My mom wanted a teal kind of blue, but I picked 'Calypso'. It took FOREVER to decide what exact shade of blue. In the world, there must be 40,000 shades. And I probably looked at 20,000. I wanted a water shade of blue, but water had depth, and I couldn't really find paint that matched the shades of color. My grandma suggested finding some object that had a shade of blue, and take it into the store. So everywhere I went, I noticed that the majority of everything, was blue!!! My mom has this theory that God's favorite colors are blue, because grass covers a lot of the earth, and then there's the sky and oceans. Anyway, we finished the walls, all except the top. We decided to leave the ceiling white! I had a white set of furniture with gold accents. But I had 2 medium-sized bookcases that were brown. So Karlene and my mom painted them white! The whole theme looks really good! I had to do the roller, so I discovered that, yes, it is possible to have blue freckles!!!

Life is complex. Or is it? Some people think life is too difficult or tangled. Depression then sets in. Still others consider life as something exceedingly simple; something that only principles or ideas could solve. There are problems on both ends of the scale. But is there really a middle? Can anyone truly figure out the complexities of life? Can someone perfectly balance in the middle? There WAS one. But many 'philosophers' of his day considered him only a lowly carpenter. Can anyone truly be one thing? A wise man became a servant, a king; a carpenter. Sometimes some of the greatest deeds in history have been the result of great sacrifice. Some of the greatest sacrifices are made when a person who has something valuable to him, throws it all away. And saves. Which takes us back to the one person who  completely understood the reason that there is life. He understood that reason with his whole body, mind, heart, and soul. The answer is love. It's because of love that had God create us. It's love that had Him create beautiful things for our pleasure. There IS a reason He forgave us time after time after time. It's not because of greed, but all-loving sacrifice made by an all-forgiving God. Now, THAT principle is simple, yet complex.

Well, last night I went to the emergency room. I was on the floor in the fetal position, sobbing, so my mom took me. I stayed for about 4 and a half hours. We had people praying for me, so I think that's why I'm better. The pain was in about the same place that my appendix is, so my mom checked out the symptoms on the Internet, and called my friend's mother. My friend had to have her appendix taken out about a year ago, so we were afraid that was it. It sounded like the same symptoms. After 4 hours, the pain practically went away. They did blood samples, and said that my blood cells (I think that's right) were not elevated, which mean that they weren't fighting any disease. That was the first time that I ever had my blood taken in my arms! It hurt a lot in my left arm because they couldn't get to the vein. And of course they used a big needle. Ouch! When they switched to my right arm, I noticed that the left arm vein was all bruised. But they got blood from the right arm. How was that for 'gory' details?! Anyway, we called some friends to ask for their prayer, which I believed saved me. Because on a scale of 1 to 10 of the worst pain I've ever had, this was a 9 or 10. And I wasn't faking it either. So I think God DID have a hand in saving me. And why not? Although He did have a lesson thrown in. The lesson is when you get in a fight, don't punch someone else's nose, because it will just get bloody. Instead, punch their stoumauch, then kick behind their knees, then jump on the pressure vein thing right behind the neck, and in between the shoulder blades. Why is this the lesson, you ask? Well, as I was leaving at midnight, this guy came in surrounded by maybe 5 or 6 police. His shirt was ripped, and their was blood all on his face. So my mom and I figure that he got into a fight. Anyway, I'm finally home, and I'm gonna continue life as always. Because this morning, I'm going with my mom to the library (yay!!!), and food shopping (I'll have to bring a book), and shopping at a Home Depot kind of place. (...............sigh...............) So, thanks for your prayers, and remember: God DOES work miracles But not usually with big flashes of lightning and blue mist. Think of every blessing you have ever been given. That's a miracle. Life, is a miracle. I think sometimes, we don't really think that life is wonderful, special, or amazing. That's probably when we forget God for awhile. Maybe God uses us getting sick, for a reason. Like, now I can be grateful that I usually don't have to have my blood taken, that I can walk normally, that I don't have to have an operation. I really hope you read this WHOLE POST, not just the 'exciting' beginning. We should, as God's special creation, just sit down someplace where we feel closest to God, and just be still. You might be thinking that doing this is too much trouble. Well, considering that He has saved YOU countless of times, I don't think it will put a dent in your schedule. For me, I like being outside when it's windy, like on the Stone Table out back. But everyone has their own quiet place. So feel free to use it!!!!!!!

Check out my new videos! see the results of what happens when you mess around with Pirates of the Caribbean, Lord of the Rings, Narnia, Garageband, and a mike......

Yesterday, we had 2 families over for dinner.  I don't usually see all the friends who came, (3 are driving, and 1 doesn't live around here) so I had a lot of fun! We started out with a penny challenge. Each of  us kids (and 1 fun adult), were given 10 pennies each. We had to walk around and challenge people to 1 of 3 challenges. If we won, they had to give us a coin, and if we lost, we gave them a coin. The challenges were: a coin toss, thumb wrestling, and rock, paper, scissors. I liked the rock, paper, scissors best, becaaue I had a chance of winning. The coin toss revolves too much on chance. And the thumb wrestling I lost both times I did it because the first time my friend and I thought that we had to pin down the other one's thumb for 10 seconds, not 3. Oops. Then the second time I thumb wrestled, I was up against a friend with a giant thumb, and I wasn't allowed jamming my thumb nail into his thumb, so I lost. I' m a failure. : ( Just kidding. We did a hot dog roast around the fire pit, and we made mountain pies. If anyone doesn't know what a Mountain Pie is, they have been deprived from the pleasure! It's where you make like a sandwich, put it in a metal case, and put it directly into the fire. Or the ashes. I forget which, because a friend of mine nicely made mine! (No, I'm not a wimp.....) You could put like tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni on your mountain pie. Anyway, we had a lot of food that people brought. There was, in all 16 people, and 2 dogs. (That fact IS important later in my story....) We played Canadian Dodgeball (If you don't know what that is, you should look it up, 'cause it it really fun!), and we played with sparklers. And the girls and I did little dances with the sparklers, much to the embarrassment of some other friends. Then we had a birthday party to my dog who is now 9. We had presents (which I had to wrap), and a cupcake for each of the dogs. Her new friend (or acquaintance) even ate his cupcake wrapper!!!!! A neighbor was setting off fireworks, which was so cool! It was so much fun watching everyone, seeing what they were doing, how they responded to different things, etc. : )
So this was a little story into my life.

Signing off ~Katie

Any ideas if I should change the font color?! Just wondering........
